What is R1Soft?
R1Soft Server Backup Manager is a premium data backup solution for Windows and Linux computers that provides fast, reliable, and scalable backups. Compared to other backup solutions R1Soft is faster, reduces disk and network I/O, and minimizes performance penalties without compromising the quality of backups.
How does R1Soft backup data?
R1Soft backs up data at the block level; in other words, it bypasses the file system and reads data directly from the disk/volume. When R1Soft is first installed on a tenant it will create a full snapshot of all data. After the initial backup has been completed, incremental backups based on changes that have been made since the previous backup are performed at the block level. Backing up data this way is faster and decreases the I/O which allows for more efficient server performance during the data backup.
Backups can be scheduled as often as preferred and stored for any term. Additionally, R1Soft allows for a bare metal restore, which means data can be restored to a blank server. Data can even be restored on the file level, which can be selected in R1Soft’s easy-to-use interface.

How do I set up R1Soft on my dedicated server?
In order to being setting up R1Soft on your dedicated server(s), you’ll first need to purchase 1 license for each machine you’d like to backup as well as select how much storage space you’d like to use. Once you’ve purchased the licenses, simply login to our R1Soft server below to configure the R1Soft agent on your protected machine(s);

You must configure each machine on the R1Soft server and install the R1Soft agent on each machine before backups can successfully occur. How much does R1Soft cost?
Each R1Soft license package is $35/month and our storage prices start at 50GB for $14.95/month. Additional R1Soft licenses, which are required for any virtual machines on a server, and additional storage space are available for purchase. You can upgrade/downgrade your number of licenses and maximum storage space any time.
Does R1Soft have any restrictions?
While R1Soft includes a plugin that allows it to backup cached data in a MySQL database, it does not have this functionality with Microsoft SQL Server databases. Additionally, only data that has been dumped to a drive will be backed up; this can cause data corruption with data that is only cached. It’s important to be aware of these restrictions before deciding whether or not R1Soft is the proper backup solution for your data.
